Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is a skin substitute?
A skin substitute is an advanced wound care treatment made from biologically active materials that help the body heal chronic or hard-to-heal wounds. These materials may come from human or animal sources or be created synthetically. They are applied directly to the wound to support tissue regeneration, reduce inflammation, and speed up healing—especially when traditional treatments have not worked.
Is this covered by Medicare?
Yes. Skin substitutes and advanced wound care treatments are covered by Medicare when deemed medically necessary and provided by a qualified healthcare professional. Our WoundCare360 program is fully compliant with CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) guidelines. We will work with your primary care provider and Medicare plan to ensure that your care is documented and billed correctly.
Can wound care be done at home safely?
Absolutely. WoundCare360 was specifically designed to bring advanced wound care directly to the home in a safe and effective way. Our clinical team—including licensed nurses, mid-level providers, and supervising physicians—uses strict protocols, advanced tools, and secure telehealth oversight to ensure every wound is treated with the highest standard of care. In-home treatment reduces the risk of hospital-related complications and improves comfort, convenience, and healing.
